Lausanne – The Board of Directors of Alpiq has appointed Thomas Bucher as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He succeeds Patrick Mariller as member of the Executive Board.
Thomas Bucher (48) is changing from gategroup (previously Gate Gourmet) to Alpiq. He will take over responsibility as CFO at the beginning of April 2015.
From 2008 until the end of 2014, Thomas Bucher was the Group CFO and a member of the Executive Management Board of the publically listed airline catering company gategroup Holding AG. In this function, he was responsible for all financial areas, as well as risk and insurance management. In addition, the corporate functions IT and Communications reported to him on the group level. Thomas Bucher began his professional career in financial controlling at Ciba-Geigy (as of 1997 Ciba Specialty Chemicals) in 1992. He worked for the company for 16 years in a series of management positions in the areas of finance and controlling at the group, regional, and country level.
Thomas Bucher is a Swiss citizen, has a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of St. Gallen, and completed an International Executive Programme at the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau (F) and Singapore.
