We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. IT Solution Architect to join our IT Corporate team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and cloud solutions, with a strong understanding of business processes and systems. The Sr. IT Solution Architect will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and flexible architectures that support the Alpiq`s corporate business functions.
The candidate should have certifications in TOGAF and ArchiMate, alongside hands-on experience with capability mapping, microservices, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and cloud technologies such as AWS.
Your profile
Education and Certifications• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.• Certifications in TOGAF, ArchiMate, AWS Solutions Architect, and ITIL4 are highly desirable.
Experience• Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, with a focus on corporate business applications. • Proven experience with capability mapping, enterprise modeling, and architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.• Solid experience designing and implementing cloud architectures (AWS preferred) and distributed systems.• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and related technologies.• Familiarity with energy trading systems and processes (e.g., front, middle, and back office) is a plus.• Experience working with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.• Experience working with ADOIT, Signavio and Atlassian Cloud are advantageous.
Technical Skills• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure.• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).• Familiarity with integration technologies such as APIs, message queues, and event-driven architectures.• Strong understanding of security architectures, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance in cloud and distributed systems.
Soft Skills:• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical and business requirements and deliver strategic solutions.• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Your main responsibilities
Architecture Design and Implementation• Design, develop, and implement IT architectures to support Alpiq`s corporate systems like ERP, HRIS and others.• Ensure the adherence to architecture principles, standards, and best practices, ensuring alignment with the Alpiq’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.• Leveraging enterprise-wide capability maps and architecture models using frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate to keep architecture layers aligned with business objectives.
Cloud Architecture and Distributed Systems• Design cloud-native solutions using AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.• Document the architecture of distributed systems and services, implementing resilient, scalable microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA).• Collaborate with IT operations and DevOps teams to manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost optimization and compliance with internal governance.
Strategic IT Planning:• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into architecture solutions.• Contribute to the development of a target architecture aligned with the Alpiq’s business strategy, including digital transformation, cloud migration, and software modernization.• Lead the evaluation of new technologies and solutions to enhance the IT corporate landscape and support business growth.
Enterprise Architecture Governance• Ensure architectural consistency and adherence to standards across projects and programs.• Maintain and update architecture documentation, including reference architectures and guidelines, to ensure ongoing relevance and accuracy.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure that IT architecture solutions meet both technical and business requirements.
Collaboration and Communication• Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure alignment between system architecture and implementation.• Collaborate with business analysts and project managers to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions.• Present and communicate complex architectural solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
