Groupe E Greenwatt becomes a shareholder in Entegra Wasserkraft alongside Alpiq

Granges-Paccot, Lausanne - Groupe E Greenwatt acquires the 25% stakes of Entec AG in Entegra Wasserkraft, based in Saint-Gall and Coire, 75% of which is owned by Alpiq. Working to develop new renewable energy sources, Groupe E Greenwatt and Alpiq EcoPower thus demonstrate their commitment to jointly develop Entegra Wasserkraft's business activities in the small-scale hydroelectric power sector.

Groupe E Greenwatt acquires a 25% stake in Entegra Wasserkraft in Saint Gall and Coire, 75% of which is owned by Alpiq. This crystallises the partnership set up between Groupe E Greenwatt and Alpiq in 2014 and demonstrates their commitment to working together in the field of renewable energy development.

This investment enables Groupe E Greenwatt to expand its activities in the field of small-scale hydroelectric power, while increasing its presence in central and eastern Switzerland, where the company is already present developing wind power. With Groupe E Greenwatt, Alpiq can rely on a partner that shares the same vision of the industry in order to continue the development of the projects it has started with Entegra Wasserkraft.

Entegra Wasserkraft, founded in 1999, is active in the field of planning, constructing and operating small hydroelectric power station projects in central and eastern Switzerland. As a consultancy and service provider in the field of small-scale hydroelectric power, the company develops its projects in conjunction with local electricity distributors, public-sector bodies and private partners.

With a share capital of CHF 4,120,000, Entegra Wasserkraft operates - as an owner or shareholder - six small hydroelectric power stations, whose total annual production is 3,500,000 kWh. This is equivalent to the average annual consumption of approximately 800 households. Projects currently under development could ultimately enable the company to reach an annual production of over 20,000,000 kWh, i.e. equivalent to the consumption of 4,400 households.
