Madrid – Alpiq has appointed Paula del Castillo as the new Country Manager of Alpiq Spain. With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector and with effect from 17 April 2023, del Castillo will pursue the further development of the company's activities in Spain: growth in renewable and flexible power generation projects, tailor-made solutions for counterparties in origination and management of the Plana del Vent combined cycle power plant (CCGT).

Paula del Castillo (Madrid, 1974) is an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds an Executive MBA from the School of Industrial Organization. She has extensive experience in team and project leadership both at national and international level. After her first professional steps in the world of railway transport and technological consulting, del Castillo has developed most of her professional career in the energy industry and within the French energy group ENGIE, being part of the management committee of the Spanish subsidiary from 2008 to 2021.

“I’m happy that Paula del Castillo is joining us and taking over the responsibility for Alpiq Spain. In addition to her strong track record in the Spanish energy sector, her extensive experience in renewable energy business development will benefit Alpiq’s ambitions also beyond Spain,” says Lukas Gresnigt, Head of Alpiq’s International business division and Executive Board member.

Paula del Castillo follows Guillermo Negro. The former Country Manager of Alpiq Spain embarked on a new career path earlier this year, joining Magnon Green Energy as CEO.
