We look for a new team player in the End User Compute team within Infrastructure Services who will bring the Digital Workplace at Alpiq to the next level by Driving Business Success through Innovative Cloud Solutions.
The Digital Workplace Specialist focuses on improving the user experience and performs activities related to planning, delivering, and managing virtual desktop experiences and remote applications, for any device on Azure. He implements and manages networking for Azure Virtual Desktop, configure host pools and session hosts, create session host images, implement and manage FSLogix, monitor Azure Virtual Desktop performance and health, and automate Azure Virtual Desktop management tasks. Provide ongoing support for enterprise information systems, apply problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to resolve issues related to the integration, deployment, and operation of End User Compute systems.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT
- At least five years of experience working with information technology, more particularly the management of digital work tools in a business environment
- Strong understanding of IT Workplace processes, applications and technology in at least the following areas: Entra ID, Active Directory, MECM (SCCM), Autopilot, Intune, Unified Endpoint Management, Endpoint Security (MS Defender), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Microsoft Office 365
- Strong Azure administration experience
- Understanding of Cloud Computing
- Proficiency in Azure Virtual Machines
- Familiarity with Azure Storage Solutions
- Understanding of Azure Networking
- Expertise in Azure Security
- Knowledge of Azure Monitoring and Logging
- Proficiency in Azure Automation
- Understanding of Azure Active Directory
- Familiarity with PowerShell
- Technical expertise in environment migrations like:
- Windows 10 to Windows 11
- MECM to Intune
- Group Policy to Intune Configuration profiles
- Good knowledge of ITIL framework
- Business systems analysis and support experience
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
- Self-driven and strong team player
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently, communicate clearly and deliver viable solutions
- Strong knowledge of project management
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

Your main responsibilities
- Lead autonomously projects in the Digital Workplace and Azure Virtual Desktop area
- Be able to establish conceptual documents and able to conduct and steer workshops
- Helps develop and maintain governance and standards for using productivity tools
- Understand the business needs and assist in collecting and identifying functional requirements
- Develop high level solution and low-level solution designs for new digital workplace services in compliance with given processes and methods on Business Relationship Mgmt request
- Design end-to-end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing
- Keeps abreast of new features from productivity technology vendors and conveys the impact of these updates to the team
- Transition and transform existing technologies in a global delivery model including setting up the knowledge transfer, coaching and possible training
- Validate new solutions (e.g. run PoCs) and create business cases to get the management approvals
- Documentation required for transition to operation (e.g. service description, service specification, operational manuals)
- Continuously improving the services to create added value for Alpiq Interface and coordination between Business, IT Engineering, IT Support, and IT Security
- Encourages widespread adoption of proven collaboration tools
- Use problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise
- On-going assistance and on-site trainings, finding appropriate solutions and addressing any knowledge and training gaps that may exist
- Provides in-person and remote training to staff on how to leverage productivity tools in their work
- Develop basic training materials (tip sheets, quick screen recordings, etc.) to help staff learn new features
