Lausanne - Guy Mustaki has informed the Board of Directors that he will not stand for re-election to the Board of Alpiq Holding AG. As a replacement, the Board of Directors will propose Wolfgang Martz, an independent board member and corporate consultant, for election by the General Meeting.
Guy Mustaki’s decision is due to the fact that he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Romande Energie Holding SA, a company that may be interested in the hydropower plants belonging to Alpiq. This circumstance could create a significant conflict of interests. "I very much regret that our Board of Directors will lose such strong member, who helped shape Alpiq’s new direction. Nevertheless, I welcome the change as an expression of interest on the part of Romande Energie Holding SA in the Alpiq hydropower plants," says Jens Alder, Chairman of the Board of Alpiq Holding AG.
Wolfgang Martz has a degree in agricultural engineering from the ETH Zurich. Since 1993, he has worked in various functions as an independent board member. Since 2006, he has been working as a professional board member, as well as a consultant and trainer for corporate governance issues. His various board mandates include Romande Energie Holding SA and EOS Holding SA.
