Lausanne – Alpiq has acquired a stake in MOVE Mobility AG, founded in 2017. This gives the joint venture between Groupe E, ewb and EBM a broader basis, and puts it in an optimal position to face future challenges in the electro-mobility sector.
By acquiring a stake in MOVE Mobility AG, Alpiq joins the existing shareholders Groupe E, ewb and EBM in expanding the e-mobility sector's charging infrastructure and services. Founded last year, the joint venture MOVE Mobility AG operates one of Switzerland's largest public charging networks and develops new services for users of electric vehicles. The shareholders each hold 25% of the share capital. Alpiq's business division Digital & Commerce holds a stake in MOVE Mobility AG via Alpiq E-Mobility AG.
Jointly getting electro-mobility into gear
MOVE and Alpiq have already been partners since the start of 2017. Since this cooperation began, over 300 public charging stations in Switzerland and a thousand charging stations throughout Europe have been made available to users of electric vehicles. For Alpiq, acquiring a stake in the independent MOVE Mobility AG is therefore a logical step in the further development of e-mobility. With the goal of providing a comprehensive, remotely monitored and high-quality charging service at reasonable prices, MOVE uses the resources, skills, synergies and innovations of all participating partners.
In this way, MOVE and Alpiq are jointly creating incentives to switch to e-mobility and responsibly contributing to the decarbonisation of private transport.
