Change of management at Alpiq Hydro Aare AG

Olten – On 1 July 2014 Thomas Fürst will take over the management of Alpiq Hydro Aare AG in Boningen. He will succeed Urs Hofstetter who will retire after 36 years with Alpiq.

Thomas Fürst (46) has been with Alpiq for more than 12 years. In his previous position he was Deputy Managing Director of Nant de Drance SA. This company is in charge of the construction of Alpiq's new pumped storage power station in the Swiss canton of Valais. In addition, Thomas Fürst represented Alpiq's interests in the hydroelectric power stations in north-western Switzerland. He will take over as Managing Director of Alpiq Hydro Aare AG on 1 July 2014. The company with headquarters in Boningen is a fully-owned subsidiary of Alpiq Holding Ltd. and with its 25 employees operates the Flumenthal, Ruppoldingen and Gösgen hydroelectric power stations.

Thomas Fürst will succeed Urs Hofstetter who will retire at the end of June 2014 after 36 years with Alpiq. The latter has been in charge of the hydroelectric power company since 2000.
