Run-of-river power plant Flumenthal

The Flumenthal power station was first put into service in 1970. Following measures to increase the capacity to 27 MW, the three turbine-generator groups now generate an average of 146 GWh of renewable hydroelectric power per year. This corresponds to an increase of 6 percent.

The modernisation of the power station between 2006 and 2009 comprised a general overhaul of the machine groups with the installation of new turbine shafts and flow-modified turbine wheels, the replacement of the electrical control and regulation equipment, as well as the auxiliary power and generator systems.
