The low-pressure run-of-river power plant is located on the River Rhine below Stein-Säckingen. Its four Kaplan turbines, each with a capacity of 30 MW, represented a pioneering achievement when first commissioned back in 1931. Switzerland's share in this border power station is 50 percent.
