Lausanne – The Board of Directors of Alpiq Holding Ltd. has appointed Navin Parasram (48) as the new Head of the Digital & Commerce business division. With effect from 1 June 2022, Navin Parasram will also join Alpiq’s Executive Board. He is currently Head of Alpiq’s Merchant Trading business unit.
Navin Parasram holds a PhD in engineering and joined Alpiq in April 2020. Prior to this, he was involved in commodities and structured products trading at EDF Trading, Citigroup and Engie in London and Paris. He will succeed Antje Kanngiesser, who has held this position on an interim basis since last year.
In addition to international wholesale energy trading, Navin Parasram’s new responsibilities will include asset trading, which involves the risk management of energy from Alpiq’s own power plants, and risk management services for the direct industrial and business customers and partners.
From 1 June 2022, following this appointment, Alpiq’s Executive Board will be composed as follows: Antje Kanngiesser (CEO), Luca Baroni (CFO), Michael Wider (Head of the Switzerland business division), Lukas Gresnigt (Head of the International business division), Alexandra H. Machnik (Head of Corporate Services) and Navin Parasram (Head of the Digital & Commerce business division).
