Partnership-based solutions are essential for mastering the challenges of the energy transition and strengthening security of supply at the same time. The partnership approach and Alpiq's offer in terms of economic efficiency and risk optimisation have led to EW Höfe joining Alpiq's balance group on 1 January 2025.
"In Alpiq, we have found the ideal partner for our upcoming challenges in portfolio management," says Arne Kähler, CEO of EW Höfe. "Alpiq already has extensive experience in feed-in and load forecasting from its international activities. Thanks to smart meter data in real time, EW Höfe can also contribute its good base of data to the collaboration."
Together, Alpiq and EW Höfe are endeavouring to improve the quality of forecasts with regard to production and consumption, which will ultimately serve to ensure grid stability and lead to lower electricity prices for EW Höfe customers. EW Höfe still has the option of concluding forward transactions on the electricity market - both with Alpiq and third parties. This valuable experience will enable Alpiq to further improve and expand its contract portfolio for Swiss distribution system operators and energy supply companies in the coming years.
