Seon small-scale hydropower plant

The small hydropower station in the municipality of Seon in the canton of Aargau is located on the River Aabach between Lake Hallwil and the River Aare. It was constructed in 1943 in order to generate electricity for the neighbouring industrial zone. The power plant is equipped with a 90 cm diameter Kaplan turbine from Escher Wyss and has in the meantime been connected to the national electricity grid. The generated electricity covers the consumption of approximately 100 households.
