The Widen small hydropower plant was constructed in 1989 and is located in the municipality of Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau. With its two-metre diameter turbine, it generates electricity for the equivalent of more than 1,000 households. The water is supplied via a canal, flows through the turbine and is fed back into the River Thur downstream.
